Jakarta Provincial Government Expresses Condolences for the Cyclist Accident on Sudirman

Jakarta Provincial Government expressed its deepest condolences for the death of a cyclist in a traffic accident on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman, Central Jakarta, on Tuesday (12/9) morning.

The incident, which occurred at around 6:20 AM in front of the Karet Sudirman Transjakarta Bus Stop (towards Pemuda Merdeka), involved a non-BRT Transjakarta electric bus on route 4C belonging to the Damri operator (DMR 230117).

"On behalf of the Jakarta Provincial Government, we express our deepest condolences for this tragedy. The case is currently being handled by the Jakarta Metropolitan Police, and we will continue to monitor the entire process," said Syafrin Liputo, Head of Jakarta Transportation Agency, Tuesday (12/9).

Before the accident, a cyclist named Hudi Suryodipuro was traveling from south to north on Jalan Jenderal Sudirman. Upon arriving at the location, right in front of the Karet Sudirman Transjakarta bus stop, an incident occurred involving a Transjakarta electric bus with license plate number B-7058-SGX driven by Buha Sihite. At the time of the incident, the bus was stopped to accommodate passengers.

As a result of the incident, the cyclist suffered serious injuries and died at the scene. His body was then taken to Cipto Mangunkusumo Hospital (RSCM) in Central Jakarta for a post-mortem examination to determine his identity and cause of death.

Syafrin urged the public to prioritize safety when driving or engaging in road activities.

"Always obey traffic rules and signs, use safety equipment, keep a safe distance, and always prioritize safety," he stated.
